Description:

This 1979 GMC Caballero features the Laredo trim package and is finished in Dark Carmine and Carmine over Cranberry vinyl upholstery. It is powered by a 305ci V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes 14″ Rally wheels, power steering, chrome bumpers and bed rails, a red Rhino spray-on bedliner, an aftermarket grille, air conditioning, and cruise control. The car was first delivered to Adams Motor Company of Fremont, Nebraska, and subsequently spent time in Colorado. It is now offered with a factory build sheet, partial service records, and a clean Florida title.

Interior:

The split bench seat is trimmed in Cranberry vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpet, and door panels. Additional appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, GMC-branded floor mats, and three-point seat belts. There is a tear in the driver-side seat upholstery, the carpet is separating from the passenger-side door sill plate, the fabric on the sun visors is sagging, and the aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo operates intermittently. The storage bay behind the seats is accessed via a velcro-attached panel, and houses a spare tire. The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilt-adjustable column and frames a sweeping 85-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 82k miles, though the total mileage is unknown. The decorative piping on the steering wheel has broken off.

Exterior:

The body is finished in Dark Carmine (79) and Carmine (77) paint. Additional exterior details include bright trim and moldings, chrome bumpers and bed rails, dual remote-control side mirrors, a red Rhino spray-on bedliner, a wrap-around rear window, mud guards, and polished dual exhaust tips. The truck has been fitted with an aftermarket grille as well as a tailgate badge sourced from a later-model GMC truck. Blemishes around the body include paint chips, an imperfection in the windshield, and wear on the rear window tint.

Drivetrain:

The 305ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 150 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Color-coordinated 14″ Rally wheels wear polished trim rings and center caps and are mounted with 215/70 Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II narrow-whitewall tires. The truck is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
