Description:

This 1970 Jeep Jeepster Commando started life as a station wagon example and it was modified under prior ownership with a roll bar, a black vinyl soft top, 15″ steel wheels, tubular bumpers, a lifted suspension, manually locking front hubs, front sport bucket seats, a rear bench seat, and a CD stereo. The truck is powered by a 225ci V6 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and it is finished in blue over black vinyl upholstery. Work included the replacement of the carburetor and spark plugs.

Interior:

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl. Additional appointments include hand-crank windows, black rubber front floor mats, a carpet kit, a marine CD stereo, and door-mounted aftermarket speakers. The wood-rimmed aftermarket steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Readouts for oil pressure and coolant temperature have been added to the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 29k miles.

Exterior:

The truck has been refinished in blue and features a removable black soft top, a seven-slot grille, tubular bumpers, front fog lights, an exposed fuel-filler cap, and dual exhaust outlets.

Drivetrain:

The 225ci Dauntless V6 was factory rated at 160 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque. An electric cooling fan was installed under prior ownership. The selling dealer has reportedly replaced the spark plugs and carburetor. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The white-painted 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 31×10.50″ BFGoodrich Land Terrain tires. Stopping power is provided by front and rear drum brakes. A suspension lift kit was installed under prior ownership and manually locking front hubs are fitted up front. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery.
