Description:

This 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Sport Coupe is finished in white with tri-color stripes over maroon cloth and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include SS-specific bodywork and graphics, 15″ wheels, front disc brakes, an F41 sport suspension, power steering, a rear lip spoiler, front and rear bench seats, a Kenwood CD stereo, air conditioning, and power windows. This Monte Carlo is now offered with the owner's manual and original window sticker.

Interior:

The interior is trimmed in maroon cloth and features front and rear bench seats as well as color-coordinated door panels. Amenities include a locking glovebox, a Kenwood CD stereo, R134a-converted air conditioning, and power windows. Photos viewable in the gallery show a sagging headliner, a tear on the side of the driver's seat, and corrosion along the lower portion of the driver's door and trunk lid. The two-spoke sport steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, battery voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over and shows 30k miles.

Exterior:

The Monte Carlo SS featured model-specific front and rear bodywork, body-color sport side mirrors, and Monte Carlo SS decals. This example is believed to have been repainted in white with tri-color stripes under prior ownership. Additional equipment includes quad halogen headlights, a rear lip spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets.

Drivetrain:

The 5.0-liter High Output V8 was equipped from the factory with a Rochester Quadra-Jet four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 215/65 Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTS rubber up front and 215/65 Cooper Lifeliner Classic II tires out back. The SS was factory equipped with F41 sport suspension with heavy-duty springs and larger front and rear anti-roll bars, and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
