Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa was sold new at Porsche/Audi of the Palms in Florida in April 1973, and remained with its original owner until 2017. Repainted in Metallic Green over black leatherette and patterned cloth upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.4-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed 915 manual transaxle. Equipment includes a removable roof panel, a stainless-steel Targa bar, 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels, adjustable seats, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. Recent work included changing the oil, bleeding the brakes, and adjusting the fuel-injection system in addition to replacing the hazard-light switch and roof-panel headliner. This 911T Targa is offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, owner's manuals, a tool kit, and service records.

Interior:

The adjustable front bucket seats were reupholstered in 2016 with black leatherette and houndstooth inserts. Additional appointments include a locking glovebox, folding rear seats, and a later-year Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The car was factory-equipped with air conditioning, and the system was overhauled in 2018. The hazard-light switch and the roof panel's headliner were replaced in 2023. The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 150-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock as well as gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles.

Exterior:

The car was factory-finished in Metallic Green (83), and a window-out repaint was carried out in 2017. Exterior details include a removable roof panel, a stainless-steel Targa bar, rubber bumperettes, and a driver-side mirror.

Drivetrain:

The 2.4-liter flat-six was rebuilt in 2018 and came factory equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a rating of 140 horsepower. In conjunction with the rebuild, the engine baffles and cooling fan were refinished and the exhaust system received a Jet-Hot ceramic coating. The oil was most recently changed in October 2023, and fuel-injection adjustments were made at that time. The corresponding invoice also notes cylinder compression-test results and can be viewed in the gallery. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 915 five-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt in 2018. The 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that have 2016 production-date codes, and a spare on a matching wheel is secured in the front trunk. The car was factory-equipped with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes which were bled in October 2023.
