Description:

This 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra convertible is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Lazer red over black leather upholstery. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a black soft top, a rear spoiler, 17″ cast-aluminum wheels, fog lights, a CD stereo, a trunk-mounted Pioneer CD changer, a Hurst shifter, and air conditioning.

Interior:

The cabin features articulated front seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior amenities include dual front airbags, a Hurst shifter, a CD stereo, and air conditioning. A Pioneer CD control unit is mounted to the right of the steering wheel and a multi-disc CD changer is fitted in the trunk. The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 77k miles.

Exterior:

The SVT Cobra featured Cobra-logo fender badges and revised front and rear bumper covers when compared to the contemporary Mustang GT. This example is finished in Lazer red and features a power-retractable black convertible soft top as well as fog lights, hood vents, a rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. Paintwork is evident on the rear quarter panels.

Drivetrain:

The 4.6-liter V8 features electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 305 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. In preparation for the sale the cooling system was serviced, the oil cooler and spark plugs were replaced, and an oil change was carried out. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Borg-Warner T45 five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential. Areas of corrosion are visible on the underside. Cast-aluminum 17″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with 255/45 Dayton Daytona ZR tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with Cobra-branded front calipers.
