Description:

This 2022 Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo was campaigned in the Ferrari Challenge North America series and received a replacement twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 and seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transaxle in 2023. It is finished in Blu Tour de France with multi-color vinyl accents over a race-prepped cockpit equipped with a roll cage as well as a single Sabelt carbon-fiber bucket seat with a cam-lock harness. Build specifics listed below.

Interior:

The cockpit houses a roll cage with doors bars as well as a single Sabelt fixed-back bucket seat with a carbon-fiber shell accompanied by a red six-point harness with a cam-lock latch. The door panels are constructed of carbon fiber, and a display for the rear-view camera system is mounted atop the Alcantara-trimmed dash. A ChillOut Motorsports driver-cooling system and Kustom Komponents helmet blower have been added, and the car retains a factory air conditioning system. Additional racing equipment includes a DSA race connectivity gateway (RCG), an OMP fire suppression system, and safety nets.

Exterior:

The Challenge Evo specification unveiled in 2019 with revised aerodynamics that allow the ability to adjust the front aero load independently of the rear load to help optimize balance. This example was finished from the factory in Blu Tour de France and wears contrasting blue, green, and white stripes along the lower bodywork. Further exterior details include Lexan side windows with a sliding opening on the left and a NACA-style duct on the right as well as dual Premier Fuel Systems quick-fill fuel fittings that feed an ATL fuel cell.

Drivetrain:

Derived from 488 GTB, the twin-turbo 3.9-liter Tipo F154 V8 used in the 488 Challenge Evo is equipped with a lightened exhaust system as well as specially tuned engine management software for a factory-rated output of 661hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. The engine was replaced in January 2023 by HP-Tech Motorsport of Hallandale Beach, Florida, and the car has participated in two race weekends since. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a short-ratio seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transaxle with Challenge-specific shift programming and an Evo-tuned electronic LSD. Center-lock 19″ Motegi Racing forged alloy wheels are finished in green and mounted with Pirelli P Zero slicks. The car is equipped with an air jack system and rides on adjustable coilovers with Eibach helper springs. The ABS and TCS were reworked for the Evo and can be adjusted via dials on the dash and steering wheel, respectively. Braking is handled by Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over carbon-ceramic discs.
