Description:

This metallic gray 1956 Volkswagen Beetle is powered by an air-cooled 1,192cc flat-four paired with a split-case four-speed manual transaxle. The interior is trimmed in red vinyl and features wing nut seat adjusters, black dashboard knobs, a three-spoke steering wheel, a gear lever ashtray, and a rearview mirror with an integrated light. Additional details include a gray canvas sliding sunroof, tinted rain guards, a Canadian-market fender badge, 15″ steel wheels, bias-ply tires, and hydraulically-actuated four-wheel drum brakes. The car underwent refurbishment circa 2018 and this oval-window sunroof Beetle is now offered with a Florida title listing it as a 1958 model.

Interior:

The seating surfaces are trimmed in red vinyl upholstery and are joined by matching door panels, oatmeal square weave carpets, and black rubber floor mats. The beige mohair headliner covers the roof section only and the front bucket seats are adjustable by loosening the wing nuts below the seat bottom. Additional interior details include black dashboard knobs, a gear lever ashtray, a radio delete plate, a manual choke, a fuel reserve lever, and a rearview mirror with an integrated light. There are no sunvisors. The three-spoke steering wheel wears a horn ring and frames an 80-mph speedometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 39 miles, which represents the miles traveled since the refurbishment was completed. True mileage is unknown.

Exterior:

The oval-window body is finished in metallic gray with a gray canvas sliding sunroof. Additional details include black-painted windshield wipers, ice pick-style door handles, “snowflake” taillight lenses, tinted rain guards, a Canadian-market rear fender badge, and bullet-style turn signals with amber lenses. The windows and running boards do not have polished trim.

Drivetrain:

The air-cooled 1,192cc flat-four features a Solex downdraft carburetor and is equipped with Bosch ignition components. The fuel filter was replaced in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a split-case four-speed manual transaxle. Steel 15″ steel wheels are finished in white with body-color lips and wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps, and they are mounted with 5.60-15 Funsa bias-ply tires. A matching spare is stored in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by hydraulically-actuated four-wheel drum brakes.
