Description:

This 1950 Lagonda 2.6-Litre is one of fewer than 550 examples produced between 1948 and 1953 and features drophead coupe coachwork by Tickford. Finished in red over tan leather, the car is powered by a W.O. Bentley-designed 2.6L DOHC inline-six paired with a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission with synchromesh on the top three gears. Additional features include twin SU carburetors, four-wheel independent suspension, hydraulic drum brakes with inboard rear units, a tan convertible top, and a radio.

Interior:

The cabin is trimmed in tan leather over the front bucket seats, rear bench, and door panels, with color-matched carpeting over the floors. Features include quarter vent windows, a lockable glovebox, flip-out door-mounted ashtrays, and a radio. The three-spoke steering wheel is situated at the right of a wood dash, which is complemented by matching door caps. Smiths instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer with an inset clock and a combination gauge monitoring oil pressure, amperage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The clock does not work & the five-digit odometer shows 51k miles.

Exterior:

This example wears an older repaint in red, and closeups of the finish, trim, and lenses are presented in the photo gallery below. Various imperfections are also shown in the gallery as well as in an overview video. Features include rear-hinged doors, front fog lights, fender-mounted and door-mounted side mirrors, bright stone guards on the rear fenders, trafficators, dual fuel-filler caps, and a tan convertible top with hinged carriage bars.

Drivetrain:

The 2.6-liter inline-six was designed by W.O. Bentley and features dual-overhead camshafts and twin SU carburetors.
Invoices from service performed in 2012 are shown in the gallery below and include repairs of the carburetors and various electrical systems. Engine number LB6A/50/503 is shown stamped on the block in the gallery below, while the chassis tag is marked with engine number LG6A/50/190.

Quality Disclaimer

Due to our inventory size, we are unable to drive every vehicle for long distances. We also cannot guarantee that every gauge, light, window, horn, option, function, etc., will work as it should. Please check your local state inspection requirements. We do our best to inspect these vehicles in every detail and note any imperfections in the advertisement. Please note that we do not guarantee any air conditioning systems, gauges, or electrical systems. Given the nature of the vintage vehicles we sell, these components will need upkeep or attention.
