Description:
This Backdraft Racing Roadster is a Shelby Cobra replica that was assembled by TR-Tec in Durban, South Africa. The car is finished in blue with white and red center stripes over red and blue upholstery. Power is provided by a 302ci V8 linked with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley Sniper EFI system, Ford Racing valve covers, and MSD electronic ignition components as well as a front splitter, 17″ Halibrand-style blue knock-off wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, quick-jack bumperettes, side exhaust pipes, a custom audio system, VDO instrumentation, and Sabelt harnesses.

The fiberglass body was repainted in 2022 by Backdraft Racing in a Lamborghini-sourced shade of blue with white and red dual center stripes. Exterior features include a hood scoop, a lower front valance, a left Raydot-style mirror, a bright roll hoop, a LeMans-style fuel cap, LED headlights, front fender vents, wind wings, side-exit exhaust pipes, and quick-jack bumperettes.

Blue-finished Halibrand-style 17″ wheels wear knock-off spinners retained by safety wire and are mounted with 275/40 front and 315/35 rear Toyo Proxes R888R tires. The car features a boxed-frame chassis and a four-wheel independent suspension. Braking is handled by Wilwood discs at all four corners.

The cockpit features low-back bucket seats trimmed in red upholstery with blue accents joined by a color-coordinated transmission tunnel cover, door panels, and floor mats. Additional features include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, Sabelt four-point harnesses, a Fusion digital media receiver, an amplified Kicker subwoofer, and Focal and JL Audio speakers.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel has an AC center cap and sits ahead of VDO instrumentation consisting of a 220mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 6k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer

The 302ci V8 features a Holley Sniper EFI system, Ford Racing valve covers, and an MSD electronic ignition, coil, and distributor. Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator and dual electric cooling fans.
